Community Outreach Programs
Starkville church of Christ is committed to serving and supporting our community through acts of compassion and outreach. We strive to make a positive impact by meeting needs, fostering connection, and sharing God's love in practical ways. Below are the programs we are currently engaged in.
Backpack Foods
To help ensure children have meals on the weekends while away from school, our congregation participates in the Backpack Foods Ministry program. Through this program approximately 50 children from Starkville's Partnership school are provided food bags. You can support this ministry by donating funds online - select "Backpack Foods Ministry" on our giving page. For more information about this program or information on how to help contact the Starkville church of Christ Office at office@starkvillechurch.org
Baby Closet
To support new mothers, our church partners with First Steps Clinic to provide much-needed baby items. You can contribute to this ministry by donating online - select "Baby Closet" on our giving page. For more information about this program and how you can share the love of Jesus with mothers in need, contact Savannah Perry and/or Natasha Thompson.
Clothing Give-Away
To help bless those in need, our congregation host two free clothing give-a-ways during the fall and spring of each year. Donations of washed and folded clothing are welcome and can be dropped off at our clothing closet on the upper level of the church building during office hours. To learn more or volunteer to help with the Clothing Give-Away, contact Shane or Meghan Meredith.
Sojourners Evangelism
To help others grow spiritually, the Sojourners Evangelism program, made up of mostly retired Christians, travel across the United States and parts of Canada to serve congregations, camps, schools, and other ministries associated with the churches of Christ. Sojourners are self-supporting and provide services and no cost with a mission focused on evangelism. If you are interested in learning more about Sojourning or how you might participate, contact Jerry and Rachel Welbourne.
