our ministries

backpack foods

Our congregation provides food bags to feed around 50 children at the Partnership school each weekend. You can donate funds to support this ministry on our website by selecting "Backpack Foods Ministry" or drop of the following items at the church office: 15oz canned pop-top meals, 8oz box milk, 6.75 100% juice boxes, cereal bars, 4 oz fruit cups, and 1 gallon sized Ziploc bags. Joe and Robyn Brumfield oversee this ministry, and demonstrate the love of Jesus in their desire to help children in need.

baby closet

Our church is listed as a resource with the First Steps Clinic to help provide new mothers with much needed baby items. Donations can be made on the church website by selecting the fund, "Baby Closet."  Savannah Perry and Natasha Thompson oversee this ministry. They hope to share the love of Jesus with mothers in need.

Bridges out of poverty

Bridges Out of Poverty is a powerful tool of change. The training seminars examine the hidden rules of economic class and use them to educate participants about the unique obstacles that vulnerable individuals face.

Clothing Give-Away

Our congregation offers a free clothing give-away in the Spring and Fall of every year. You can bring washed and folded clothes to our clothing closet on the upper level of our building during office hours.  We pray this ministry blesses our community.

campus ministry @ the UCSC

We have a full time campus minister (Shane Meredith) and multiple student interns dedicated to the spiritual, emotional, and social enrichment of our college students. We also have a dedicated student center located on the lower level of our church building that provides a large meeting room, tv room, study rooms, game tables, and kitchen. We offer a unique student center experience that is partnered with a church family, all within walking distance of Mississippi State's campus. There is also a bus stop on the SMART bus route in front of our church building.

youth ministry

We love and celebrate children of all ages at the Starkville church of Christ. We offer multiple nurseries for children 0-4 years of age. We have Bible classes for children of all ages every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. We have a youth minister (Justin Easley) who oversees activities for children in Kindergarten through High School, including a very active teen ministry. We also have a program called "Rooted" that seeks to encourage children to learn God's Word. We would love to share the love and message of Jesus with you and your children.

small groups

We believe in the importance of sharing our lives with one another and discussing God's Word together in small groups. Our small group ministry connects people relationally so they can navigate life's hurdles as disciples of Christ together.

lift

LIFT stands for Living in Faith and Thanksgiving. This ministry offers monthly activities to people age 60 and above. We share meals together, play games, sing, and enjoy various types of joyous fellowship.

young adults

Our young adult ministry offers regular events for people age 21-35. Strong connections help young adults to have a strong peer group to lean on as they navigate being single, getting married, starting careers, having children and many other life challenges. We have cookouts, go on trips, do service projects, and have various other activities throughout the year.

ladies

There is a Ladies Beach Retreat each year in January, where women study God's Word together, while surrounded by the beauty of God's creation. We also offer a weekly Ladies Bible Study on Tuesdays during portions of the Spring and Fall of each year. Our ladies also celebrate weddings and births with wedding and baby showers.  We believe in rejoicing with those who are rejoicing.
